Hollywood actors who love Italy and why

Hollywood actors who love Italy and why according to Idressitalian

Hollywood loves Italy, the list of movies that have paid homage to our beautiful country is pretty long. This in turn means that Italy can be considered an actual part of the Hollywood system and of Cinematography in general. How was this possible? Well, be they actors or actresses, directors or screenwriters, they all wished at some point to include the Italian scenery in their motion pictures. Some of these celebrities bought villas or vineyards, others started their families– in short, they all share a bond with Italy and that’s why our team decided to make a list of those celebrities who feel at home here. Discover them clicking the below button >

1. COLIN FIRTH

The Academy Award Winner in 2011 for The King’s Speech is a very versatile, albeit always elegant actor. He can star in every kind of movie, from romantic comedies such as Bridget Jones’ Diary or Love Actually to dramatic ones such as A Single Man and The girl with the pearl earring. He loves our country (and speaks Italian fluently!) because he’s married with the Italian director and executive producer Livia Giuggioli with whom he has two kids: Matteo and Luca. The family lives between London and Città del Pieve.

2. AMY ADAMS

The Arrival star was actually born in Vicenza and spent the first years of her life in the military base where her father was deployed back then. She was the fourth of seven children, so she grew up in a very big family – quite Italian, don’t you think? Adams has won two Golden Globes (for her roles in Big Eyes and American Hustle) and has received five nominations for the Academy Awards; she and fellow actress Jennifer Lawrence are currently the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood. Mrs Adams has declared many times that she loves Italy and she’d love to come back and visit it.

3. JESSICA CHASTAIN

The talented actress discovered Italy thanks to her long-time partner and Moncler‘s manager Gian Luca Passi. She takes Italian classes and she’s learning to live the Italian life, which is a veritable vacation from Hollywood’s crazy rhythms. Mrs Chastain has come to love the Made in Italy and we can only say that Italy suits her natural elegance.

4. GEORGE CLOONEY

The ageless sex symbol was probably the first Hollywood VIP to buy an Italian villa, his purchase of Villa Oleandra on Lake Como was – and still is – one iconic moment. Other celebrities followed suit, like Leonardo Di Caprio who bought a house in Verona. Clooney loves everything Italian, including women: we still remember his liason with starlet Elisabetta Canalis. One of the movies he loved most is The American, shot in Abruzzo.
