Italian films that conquered the Cannes Festival of 2018 – The 71st edition of the Cannes Film Festival is now over and, as every edition, Italy did not stand still on the sidelines. From the beginning, the great Italians have made themselves known with courageous films and stories capable of striking your hearts. Many faces on the red carpet that have made the transalpine festival definitely red, white and green stripes.

3. LAZZARO FELICE
Story of friendship and a journey. The path of Lazzaro (Adriano Tardiolo), a naive and open-minded young man, who meets Tancredi, very young and spoiled by his imagination. A friendship that meets and clashes with the world, unable to see what surrounds them with the same clear and pure eyes as the two. Plots and subplots intersect and outline what is an inner journey of the two boys in a muffled world. 10 minutes of applause at the end of the screening, wins the Screenwriting Award.

2. DOGMAN
Freely inspired by a news story among the bloodiest of recent years: the story of the Canaro della Magliana. Garrone tell us about decayed Italy, desolate and disconsolate from which the story of Marcello and his grooming shop emerges. He is an average but clearly good and simple man. His character opposes itself in an ambiguous, at times symbiotic, relationship with Simone, the neighborhood bully. When the latter decides to use the shop as a basis for his last robbery, the balance will break. The struggles, the relationships, the emotions are told as a quiet revenge, without screams and grotesque scenes of news announced. The new Italian cinema: Palme d’Or at Marcello Source as Best Actor in a Protagonist role.

1. EUPHORIA
In Cannes, the Golino-Scamarcio couple returns in the Un Certain Regard section that had already welcomed her last year with Miele: behind the camera, for Euphoria, shew tells the story of two brothers, played by Riccardo Scamarcio and Valerio Mastrandrea . The first unscrupulous entrepreneur, the second is a simple local teacher, the two are seen obliged by life to really know each other and rediscover united.
Directed by Valeria Golino with Riccardo Scamarcio, Valerio Mastrandrea, Isabella Ferrari, Valentina Cervi, Jasmine Trinca. Not yet an official release date in theaters.
