MUST DO: 1.BOOK IN ADVANCE

The 10 best tips for a divine stay in Capri

Capri is one of the most expensive place where to spend your holidays. Most places are fully booked between the 15th of June and the 31st of August. Avoid booking close to these dates because hotels might not have any rooms available and prices will be really high.

Long story short, one night for a double bedroom might cost more than 1000 euro each might. May and June are the best months: the island is not too crowded and the prices are not too expensive. If you really want to go there during high season, book at least two or three months in advanced. Your bank account will thank you and you won’t worry about money during the holiday. 2. MUST NOT DO: SHORT STAY

The 10 best tips for a divine stay in Capri

Don’t limit your stay to just a few hours. No way! Especially if it’s the first time on the island. You need  at least a couple of days to really experience this island, if not, don’t do it! It’s not worth coming here for a really short stay. Don’t limit yourself to quick breakfasts or packed lunches, if you come to Capri it’s because you want to relax and enjoy the calmness the island has to offer. What could be better than comfortably sitting at a lovely restaurant and enjoying a nice plate of spaghetti while looking at the sea? We know where you can eat very well and spend the right amount. When you get here you have two options to reach the center: funicular, that passes every five minutes, or an expensice taxi. We advise, if you are in two, to use the funicular. If more than two, then get a taxi. From the port to the center it’s about 15 euro with a taxi an only 2 euro with the funicular! Continue reading clicking the button below >

4. MUST NOT DO: TOTALLY TRUST TOURIST GUIDES

The 10 best tips for a divine stay in Capri

In the ports of Sorrento and Naples, there will be a lot of tourist guides that will present their services for when you arrive in Capri. Don’t listen to them! Capri must be discovered and experienced individually, get lost, explore, discover every detail of this island by yourselves. Also, this will save you a lot of money. Additionally, most tourism companies are linked to specific restaurants that might not be the best so you risk not getting the best of the island. If you really need information, ask the locals! They’re kind and amazingly cordial. Who better when them can give you real information? Continue reading clicking the button below >

The 10 best tips for a divine stay in Capri

If you really want to enjoy an amazing meal on the island, we recommend this restaurant in Marina Grande that looks over the sea. Blue tables, ceramic places that are elegantly combines and will make the atmosphere enchanting. Amazingly fresh fish and quite good prices! Also, you will be able to enjoy an incredible view over a crystal clear sea. Always ask for what they fished that morning and as main course, order a seafood linguini. Make sure you tell Gemma you are there guests of Idressitalian for an extra careful treatment. In conclusion, if your phone is dead you can charge it here even if you don’t have your charger with you. Continue reading clicking the button below >

6.MUST NOT DO: ACCEPT TO PAY CASH WHERE THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CARDS FOR LOW IMPORTS

The 10 best tips for a divine stay in Capri – Photo credit: www.capri.net

This was my experience. In a well-known place in Marina Piccola I ordered a slice of watermelon (7 euro) and, since I saw the POS, I asked to pay by card. but the answer I received was that they could only accept card payments for imports equal and above 25 euro (this was not specified anywhere). I was encouraged to walk 500 mt to the closest cash point and, after I refused this absurd thing, they took away the watermelon. I moved to the next bar-restaurant called “Da Gioia” and I asked if I could pay by card a slice of watermelon that here costs 4 euro, and the answer was yes. This way I learnt that this is the less expensive place in all Marina Piccola.

P.S. This is barbaric in a touristic place like Capri, this limits are ridiculous and toxic for local tourism. Please do not accept to pay cash where they do not accept cards for low imports. We are in the 21st century and this is not acceptable. Continue reading clicking the button below >
