5. LACONI

This little town is on the side of the Sarcidano plateau, near Ostuni. With its waterfalls and woods, it’s the perfect place where nature lovers would love to spend their summer holidays. From the city center it’s possible to get glimpses of the countryside that surrounds the town. Even silence plays a fundamental part in creating an atmosphere remiscent of the past. Should you happen to visit Laconi, we recommend you visit the Aymerich Park, where the ruins of a medieval castle still stand and, probably most important, you will be given the chance to see Sardinia’s native orchid, the pyricanta coccinea, an extremely rare flower. We also recommend Saint Ignatius’ house, where he was born and raised and last but not least, the Menhir Museum. Continue reading clicking the below button >

This is one of the most ancient villages of Sardinia and it’s known for the beneficial and healing effects of its waters, in fact a visit to the old temple and its nuragic well is totally recommended. Strolling down the village, you will be able to admire the old Campedanese houses where farmers used to live, built using the typical combination of rocks and cobs (called “ladiri”). This village really looks like a nativity scene surrounded by amazing panoramas. Continue reading clicking the below button >

3. GALTELLÌ

This village is the very middle of the Cedrino Valley, not far from Nuoro. Seen from afar, Galtellì looks more like a hamlet straight out of an illustrated fairy tale book than a real town. Furthermore, it’s close to the sea, which means that from here you can easily reach Cala Luna, Orosei, Cala Goloritzè, Bidderosa or any other town of the Sardinian coast. The city center is characterized by typical building with loggias and white walls. We recommend you visit the Santissimo Crocefisso Church where a XIV century Tuscan gothic statue of the Christ rests – pilgrims would flock to the church in the past centuries since it was believed that the statue could operate miracles. Continue reading clicking the below button >

2. AGGIUS

Aggius is a little village in the province of Sassari and enjoys one of the most beautiful panoramas of Sardinia. The Moon Valley faces an immense field where granite rocks stand and change colors as the sun completes its daily cycle in the sky. This sight is simply breathtaking. Not far from the valley you will find a cork oak-wood and Santa Degna Lake. We also suggest you visit the Ethnographic Museum “Oliva Carta Cannes” and the museum dedicated entirely to banditry, where documents and items from the early years of the Italian unification are on display. Continue reading clicking the below button >

1. CASTELSARDO

This a very, very medieval village, perched up the hill, an endless number of ladders and steps serving as streets, where the houses are made of rock and stones and the IX century fortification overlooks the sea. As the sun sets, Castelsardo offers an unforgettable combination of natural panorama and historical architecture. Visiting the Castel Genovese fortress is a total must.
