There’s no turquoise grotto this time, but a fascinating old mill where they used to make olive oil up until the XIX century. The place is both elegant and warm, one can easily guess their tradition-meets the world cooking policy of Chef Luigi Pacella, whose mission is to prepare tasty meals. The ingredients used are fresh. Instead of suggesting you only one bottle of wine, here you’ll be served with one glass of a certain wine per meal, in order to achieve the perfect pairing every time – it may sound chaotic, but it’s fantastic! Talking about wine, you may want to taste the piglet with wine sauce.

The building that houses the restaurant is an old farmhouse modified with huge windows, the magnificent view enhances the interiors. The term osteria is such a tricky one, but mind that: this restaurant is extremely elegant and refined, the atmosphere is wonderful. The menu combines a genuine love for the motherland, Basilicata, and fine food – they only use locally grown ingredients. Eating here will be a feast for the senses. We suggest you try the home made spaghettone “Cavalieri” with red lobster, lavender and tarragon: this sauce was created as an experiment – a successful one – with Mazara del Vallo’s lobsters’ heads mixed with lavender (for the scent) and tarragon to enhance the taste of it all. It’s the perfect combination between Basilicata’s traditional cuisine and creativity.
