5. HOW TO REACH ROME

The most convenient way is definitely to arrive by train as the arrival station (Roma Termini) is in the center. There are numerous connections with the high-speed train from the main Italian cities. Consult timetables and train prices on www.trenitalia.com or on www.italotreno.it.
If you arrive by plane, the arrival airports are two: Ciampino and Fiumicino.
I strongly advise you to land in Fiumicino which is widely served by all airlines, including low cost airlines. Upon arrival at Fiumicino you will have 3 options to reach Rome
- TRAIN: Leonardo express is the train service of Trenitalia that connects Fiumicino airport to the central station of Roma Termini in just 32 minutes with non-stop connections every 15 minutes. Price: 14 euros.
- BUS: At the exit of the airport you will easily find the bus station. You can easily buy tickets on site and reach the city centre in 55 minutes. Price: 5.80 euros one way / 9 euros round trip.
- TAXI: The taxi fare from Fiumicino airport to Rome is fixed: 48 euros. If you are a group of 3/4, it is worthwhile as you will reach any point of the city, within the Aurelian walls, at a cost of about 10 euros per person. In just 25 minutes.
