3. COSA VISITARE
You’ll never stop visiting and discovering Rome but it’s good to give you an excellent start in order for you to prioritise what you will do there.
- THE VATICAN AND VATICAN MUSEUMS: We are talking, in my opinion, of the most beautiful and richest museums in the world. It is here that you will find Michelangelo’s Last Judgment in the Sistine Chapel. The Vatican museums are in fact located in the Vatican. Visit the Cathedral of San Pietro, the largest church in the world where the pope looks over Rome every Sunday. Price of the Vatican Museums: 15 euros.
- THE COLOSSEUM: An old prophecy reads: «As long as the Colosseum exists, Rome will also exist; when the Colosseum falls, Rome will also fall; when Rome falls, the world will fall. ” We are talking about the Flavian amphitheater inaugurated in 80 d.c. Well yes, the Colosseum has 2000 years of life and is still there. It does not need descriptions. Watching it, you will see and understand everything. Entry price: 12 euros.
- TREVI FOUNTAIN: It is the symbol of sweet life, it is here that you must throw a coin: turn your back to the fountain, throw the coin and express a wish. With me it really worked! I highly recommend you visit at night, you will not find the thousands of people that are there in the day and above all the atmosphere will be that of the movie “La Dolce Vita”
- PIAZZA NAVONA: It is a Hollywood square, in fact here many films have been filmed. The advice is to visit and photograph it without sitting in the bars. Prices are really exaggerated and unfair.
- VIA CONDOTTI AND PIAZZA DI SPAGNA: Via Condotti is the most beautiful luxury shopping street in the world; going along it will take you to the majestic Piazza di Spagna. You will not believe your eyes for the beauty you will see.
- THE PINCIO AND VILLA BORGHESE: Going up the 136 steps of Piazza di Spagna you will arrive at the Pincio. It is nothing but a beautiful terrace overlooking Rome. Reach it when it is sunset time, you will give yourself one of the most romantic moments of your life. Not before having visited the adjacent park of Villa Borghese: example of the best Italian architecture and botany.
- THE ZODIACO: In the evening move away from the city to observe it from afar. Enjoy a quiet drink from what, with the Pincio, is the most beautiful terrace in Rome. You will feel like you own the whole city from this extraordinary point of view.
