1 Fontebranda’s fountain
We’ll begin our tour here since this place is quite close to the parking lot (and the best way to reach Siena is by car). Fontebranda is a fountain encased in a sort of building and you’ll find it described in Dante’s Divine Comedy and in historical documents about Saint Catherine and how she would come here to wash her clothes. The flowing waters of this fountain acquire a melodious echo thanks to the building that surrounds them; by night, the fountain comes to life thanks to a special set of lights. As if this place wasn’t already perfect, we remind you that you can reach the city center via the Costone, a sort of path that goes from Fontebranda all the way up to the heart of Siena while offering you a magnificent view of the Tuscan countryside. Isn’t it wonderful?
