5. LACONI
This little town is on the side of the Sarcidano plateau, near Ostuni. With its waterfalls and woods, it’s the perfect place where nature lovers would love to spend their summer holidays. From the city center it’s possible to get glimpses of the countryside that surrounds the town. Even silence plays a fundamental part in creating an atmosphere remiscent of the past. Should you happen to visit Laconi, we recommend you visit the Aymerich Park, where the ruins of a medieval castle still stand and, probably most important, you will be given the chance to see Sardinia’s native orchid, the pyricanta coccinea, an extremely rare flower.
