6.UNIVERSITA’ DEGLI STUDI MILANO-BICOCCA
This university is a public one and it was founded in 1998 with the precise aim of creating new laboratories for as many researches as possible and offer a second institution student may opt for instead of Milan’s public University that was way too crowded to function properly. It was 1993 when the City Council picked the Bicocca area as the the spot where the new campus would be built; today the Bicocca University counts 21 buildings that host various departments: Economics and Statistics, Psychology, Law – only Medicine is in Monza, a city not far from Milan. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2014-2015 listed Bicocca as the third university of Italy (QS ranked it 16th ) and included it in the top 300 of the world. When it comes to more specific fields, Bicocca’s in the top 200 for Medicine and Physics – also is one of the best universities of Italy for Geography. Psychology and Marine and Earth Sciences. MIUR also selected Bicocca in its 2011-2012 ranking focusing on the quality of teaching and research. Then again its one of the best institutions when it comes to Chemistry and Pharmacy, Chemical Sciences. In short, this is simply one of the best universities to enroll at, it comes as no surprise that more than 40.000 students choose it.
